The corrosive effects of stress, emergencies, and disaster are part of everyday life. Learning to feel safe and confident in one’s self, and to respond effectively to whatever happens is essential for a healthy and happy life. In this three-day seminar, Shihan Moti Nativ will draw on his personal research into self-defense and the martial arts and illuminate the early work of Moshe Feldenkrais and his method for learning and self-education.
An extraordinary opportunity to improve movement and deepen the experience of the Feldenkrais Method, this seminar will delve into the themes of spatial awareness, dynamic stability, the art of falling, and action without effort. No previous experience in martial arts or the Feldenkrais Method is required. The Synergy of Martial Arts and the Feldenkrais Method will allow everyone to learn and progress in complete confidence, comfort, and security. The course is recommended not only for who practice the Feldenkrais Method and martial artists, but to all those interested in movement and awareness – including dancers, actors, physical therapists, and athletes.
Moti Nativ, an internationally recognized expert in the Martial Arts, is the founder of the Israeli Bujinkan Shiki Dojo. He began studying Martial Arts in 1966. He is proficient in Budo Taijutsu (ancient Japanese martial arts), Judo, and Krav Maga (Israeli Practical Self-Defense system). Moti has taught Martial Arts since 1979, and as of 1995 he led trainings for Budo Taijutsu certified instructors, in cooperation with the International Budo Academy. He is a certified teacher of the Feldenkrais Method, and served as the president of the Israeli Feldenkrais Guild.
A passionate researcher, Moti has explored the thinking that brought Moshe Feldenkrais from a form of ‘street fighting’ to first become a Master of Martial Arts, and then to develop the brilliant method of somatic education that bears his name. Moti recently edited and republished Moshe Feldenkrais’ book Practical Unarmed Combat. He currently teaches The Synergy of Martial Arts and the Feldenkrais Method all over the world.
