Meet Anita Noone
I was born and grew up in Cheverly, Maryland, outside of Washington, DC. I went to college in Chicago, where I learned what real winter was like. During my college years,
I spent the hot and humid DC summers as an intern for the National Weather Service. During my time with the Weather Service, I researched what was the best climate in the United States and I moved to San Diego in 1979.
I currently live in Rancho Santa Fe, California with my family, including horses, dogs, cats, and chickens. I teach both Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement classes® and Functional Integration® lessons at my studio in Solana Beach.
I completed my four year Feldenkrais® Training program and am a Guild Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner®. In June 2011, I was appointed to the Feldenkrais Journal Editorial Board. The Feldenkrais Journal publishes thoughtful and thought-provoking articles about the Feldenkrais Method®, as well as the relation of our work with other disciplines.
I have taught group lessons to active adults and teens, in an assisted living setting, to active seniors, and to adults with disabilities. My experience with private lessons includes working with athletes, equestrians, musicians, back pain sufferers, elders, and people seeking stress relief. Since May 2011, I have consulted a few days each week for the Scripps Chronic Pain Rehabilitation program, which employs an integrative approach, including the Feldenkrais Method®, to address chronic pain. I regularly receive referrals from medical doctors who specialize in rheumatology and pain management.
I always enjoy meeting new clients and hearing about the work and hobbies that make them happy. I enjoy gardening, running, swimming, and biking, and I've worked as a lawyer, mother, weather forecaster, executive, and free-lance writer, so I can usually find some common ground. I believe that everyone has the ability and the right to improve his or her health - and life.
